Welcome Centre Shoebox Appeal

This year, some of our Year 6 pupils have taken the lead in organising a shoebox appeal, in aid of The Welcome Centre in Huddersfield. This charity organises practical resources for families and individuals in crisis across Huddersfield and runs a food bank which we have supported in the past, including this year through our Harvest Celebration.

The shoebox appeal aims to provide a selection of essentials and small Christmas gifts to those in need. If your family would like to make up a shoebox, then please send them into school by no later than Friday 14th December so that they can be taken down ready to be distributed to families in need in time for Christmas.

If you wrap the box up, please wrap lids and boxes separately and secure with an elastic band, with a label or sticker to indicate who the box is suitable for (e.g. young child, teenage boy, adult female, etc).

The kinds of things that could be added include:

For children:

Toothbrush/toothpaste;

Soap/bubble bath/shower gel;

Funsize selection box or sweets

Colouring crayons/small colouring book/pencil case/bouncy ball/other small toys
